Code Geass 02

Code Geass is certainly becoming interesting to say the least. Lelouch has just recieved a new power which is named “Geass” (Probably related to the Irish Geas somehow), which apparently has the power to warp his target’s mind into following his commands, no matter what they are. There are of course restrictions, such as it requires the user to be able to actually see his target to use the ability (hi2u Death Note).

Lelouch gives his newfound powers a test run.

Combining his newfound power and his tactical mastery, Lelouch quickly organizes the terrorist group (Whilst staying completely anonymous) by securing an entire trainload of Sutherland Knightmare Frames. With the terrorist Eleven group armed and ready, Lelouch easily predicts and crushes the Britianic army’s movement and assaults one by one thanks to the information that was streaming out of the Sutherland that Lelouch had hijacked. With his Frames dropping like flies, Prince Clovis underestimates the terrorist group and foolishly orders the large majority of his Knightmare Frames to surround and then terminate the Elevens. When the Britanic Frames gather onto the supposed terrorist location, the Elevens had already gone underground. A series of bombs are triggered, and Clovis loses almost all of his Sutherlands in the following explosion.

Tactical Mastery 101.

With the loss of countless Sutherland Knightmare Frames, Clover’s hand is forced and he sends in the Brit’s newest and latest Knightmare Frame, the Lancelot unit, piloted by none other than Suzuka. The firepower of the Lancelot throws Lelouch’s battle plans completely off balance, and the firepower of the Eleven Sutherlands doesn’t seem to even dent the Lancelot unit due to it’s high powered energy shields.

The Lancelot Knightmare Frame.

Forced out into the opening by Lancelot, Lelouch places his life on his new powers and directly infiltrates the main headquarters of Prince Clovis. The Britanic army pushes the Eleven terrorist group back with the help of the Lancelot unit, but before they can deal the killing blow, Clovis, who is now under the complete control of Lelouch’s Geass, orders the complete retreat of all Britanic forces in the area.

Clovis faces off against Lelouch.

This episode was great. We got alot of action along with storyline progression (Info on Geass power, Lelouch’s history, etc). The animation is commendable, along with the music and sound. Lelouch being Clovis’ brother was a surprise for me – wouldn’t that technically mean that he’s royalty in some sense? I just hope that Code Geass doesn’t turn into Gundam SEED, where the main character finds the SUPER ULTIMATE Mobile Suit and proceeds to wreck everyone else with his new found godmode. Luckily, Lelouch doesn’t seem like the fighting type so this probably won’t be the case.
